The Gospel Lites recorded an album, "Sheltered in the arms of God" in February of 1975. This was the first album ever played in the Superdome in New Orleans. The Gospel Lites first album was recorded under the Mark V record label, the same label that gospel music legends, The Inspirations got their start under. Artifacts from the early years of The Gospel Lites are featured at the Penderlea Homestead Museum, in Penderlea NC.
